Nymphenburg Porcelain Figurine after Franz Anton Bustelli later painted by Reginald Johnson

This delightful Late 20th Century Nymphenburg Porcelain Figurine is fired in open hollow form, a more than usually difficult task for the skilled Potter, and it has been suggested to us that it is one of a Limited Edition of such figurines which were produced, "in the white" for the famous London store Harrods. This particular piece was, so we understand, purchased by the Late, greatly admired Modeller and Decorator, Reginald Johnson, who, following an illustrious career at Royal Doulton, where he trained under Charles Noke, and later at Paragon, where he rose to become Director of Design, in later years had set up his own Studio Pottery. Having thus acquired the piece in it's undecorated state, Reg then proceeded, we believe, to paint and fire the figurine in the wonderful colorway in which it is now offered. Signed upon the base in Reg Johnson's hand, "Modelled by FRANZ ANTON BUSTELLI Nymphenburg about 1755-60" "Painted by Studio Potter Reg Johnson". A unique and highly desirable piece. Height: 8.50 in. : Width: 3.50 in. : Depth: 4.25 in. : Year: Circa 1975 : Ref. NPFAFAB. $1695.00. Please add $35.00 USD to your order to ship this item. Thank You.
