The Price Guide to Antique Furniture : John Andrews

Published in 1978 by The Antique Collectors' Club of Woodbridge, Suffolk, this, the Second Edition of "The Price Guide to Antique Furniture", by John Andrews, did much to encourage the whole notion of antiques as an "investment" in the minds of the British public. The First Edition, published in 1968, had sown the seed of this unreliable thesis and this revised and expanded version did nothing to lay the idea to rest. Nevertheless, it must be admitted that here are illustrated many fine pieces of antique furniture together with a wealth of advice for the oftentimes unwary would be purchaser. Prices of course, now of historical interest only, perhaps bearing out the author's early perception, but as a work of reference, a volume worth it's salt. Hard covers, 290 pages, original dust jacket. Ref. ZTPGTAFJA479/C6. $65.00. *** INCLUDES FREE SHIPPING WITHIN U.K. ***
