The right hand side of the scene is taken from Plate 23, which is entitled "Hotun on the Canton River", and the river craft from Plate 32, "South West View of Canton". The source of the remainder of the design and of the vignettes is unknown. Canton was the first and, except for Macau, the only Chinese port open for foreign trade before 1842. This example with good clear transfer in a medium blue palette is unmarked, but of very fine quality, with a beautifully modelled finial in the form of a figure of a recumbent lion.

Height ~ 23.00 cm. / 9.00 inches ~ Width ~ 31.75 cm. / 12.50 inches ~ Depth ~ 10.25 cm. / 4.00 inches ~ Year ~ Circa 1815

PACKING, LOSS IN TRANSIT INSURANCE AND EXPRESS SHIPPING FOR THIS ITEM VIA A ROYAL MAIL TRACKED SERVICE :- WITHIN U.K. ~ FREE OF CHARGE ~ WITHIN E.U. ~ £35.00 GBP ~ REST OF THE WORLD ~ £45.00 GBP
THE APPROPRIATE SHIPPING FEE WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE ADDED TO YOUR ORDER AT CHECKOUT.

For full details of our Shipping Insurance cover CLICK HERE

BUY this fine Collector's Item NOW with your Debit / Credit Card via STRIPE our Ultra Secure Payment Gateway, via Direct Bank Transfer or via PayPal ~ Simply make your selection at the Checkout

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0968/8265/5564/files/Canton-River-Scene-Tureen-Cover-1a-1.webp?v=1757077014
georgian-victorian-blue-white-transfer-dromedary-plate
Antique Georgian / Victorian Blue & White Transfer "Dromedary" Plate

An attractive Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian / Victorian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Plate decorated in the "Dromedary" pattern.
