A good Set of Six Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer "Mosque and Fishermen" Pattern Pottery Plates by John Davenport of Longport, Staffordshire, { c. 1793 - 1887 }, the source print for which, { if indeed there ever existed such ! } remains as yet unidentified. Printed in a medium blue, the reverse of each plate with the impressed Maker's Mark of the period, viz. DAVENPORT above an anchor. Rather surprisingly, this pattern does not appear in Michael Sack's excellent work, "India on Transferware", published in 2009.
