A large and most attractive Set of Late 19th Century Antique English Victorian Brass Twin Balance Scales, perhaps originally used in a shop or in the kitchen of a large domestic establishment. The wrythen central column, surmounted by a vaguely "crown-like" device rises from a stepped brass and marble base which sits upon four "Lion's Paw" feet, whilst the larger of the two balance arms is decorated with three "Lion's Head" mounts. This fine set comes complete with it's full complement of six brass bell weights, 1/2 oz., 1 oz., 2 oz., 4 oz., 8 oz., and 1 lb.. Of superb quality and design, the overall effect is most decorative and pleasing to the eye.
