A fine heavy quality Early 20th Century Vintage English Cut Glass Oil Lamp, the body and upturned foot with deep hobnail cutting interspersed with panels of stylised florets, the removeable integral font cut in similar manner, the whole mounted upon a chromium plated base, the iron insert impress marked with the numerals 1230. Good clean drop-in brass burner, the wick winder buttons each marked "PATENT IMPROVED DUPLEX", attractive patterned glass replacement shade, and replacement chimney as one would expect. This lamp incorporates an unusual feature in that when the font, burner, chimney and shade are removed, a nightlight or candle may be inserted within a plated holder seated within the main body, this having a loose plated button cover. Altogether a desirable decorative accessory for the "Retro" enthusiast.
