A good Late 19th Century Antique English Victorian Brass and Copper Spirit Kettle in the Arts and Crafts manner by William Soutter & Sons, { 1760 - 1928 } of Birmingham, whose main business in 1802, and for some years afterwards according to Berrow's Worcester Journal, was as tea urn manufacturers. cf. Birmingham History. This fine old piece is here offered in excellent condition with just a little "play" in the handle, and comes complete with its original spirit burner and wick, the wick winder still in full working order. The underside of the kettle with Maker's Mark together with the impressed line, SOUTTERWARE. As always, we are delighted to acknowledge our debt to colleagues at The Oldcopper Website for their extensive research into these often abstruse marks.
