A tall and highly decorative Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Porcelain Vase of flattened trumpet form, the central panel hand-painted with a garland of flowers, with, to each side, gilded handles in the form of sinuous tendrils, each mounted with two applied panels of vine-leaves and grapes, the whole embellished with fine gilding, now somewhat rubbed. Various unidentified marks, eg. an incised numeral 7 and /2 to the underside of the rococo base. We are uncertain as to the origin of this fine old piece, but are inclined to think that it was perhaps produced in Shropshire at the Coalbrookdale factory of John Rose in the 1820's / 1830's. Constructive feedback regarding this tentative attribution is welcomed and will be duly acknowledged.
