A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Spode Blue and White Transfer Indented Pottery Plate in the perennially popular "Italian" pattern. First introduced in 1816, the original drawing upon which the centre print is based has never been positively identified. The underside impress marked with the upper case SPODE Maker's Mark and the Potter's Mark, the numeral 27, and printed with an upper case letter A in underglaze blue. One of three Spode plates of this pattern and period presently available from our stock.
