An attractive Early 20th Century Antique English Royal Doulton Series Ware "Old English Coaching Scenes" Porcelain Box and Cover of serpentine form, the cover depicting a coaching scene with travellers dismounting from a coach and four at a wayside inn, the painting signed W.E. GRACE. The underside of the base fully marked with the Royal Doulton Maker's mark of the period as used from 1902 - 1922, the title, viz. OLD ENGLISH COACHING SCENES within a cartouche formed as a hanging inn sign, beneath which the words MADE IN ENGLAND, indicating a post 1911 production date, the pattern number D6393, and Rd. Nos. 31933 - 49 for 1898.
