Superbly decorated with sprays of the orchid, Cattleya Mossiae, commonly known as the Easter Orchid, the border heavily gilded, this fine piece offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery. Signed on the obverse, Reginald Johnson, the reverse with the printed Royal Doulton backstamp in brown, and in brown script, Orchids, CATTLEYA MOSSIAE by Reginald Johnson.
