A fine clean copy of "Monet's Years at Giverny ~ Beyond Impressionism", originally published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, this copy issued by Windward of Leicester, circa 1978. Eighty-one works from the Giverny period are included in the book, which is based upon the eponymous exhibition held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The St. Louis Art Museum, which event traced the Artist's development from master Impressionist painter to herald of twentieth-century abstraction. All of the paintings are reproduced in full colour, together with black and white photographs of the artist and the house and gardens in which he worked. Alongside a lively account of Monet's life, contributed by Daniel Wildenstein, author of a three-volume catalogue raisonne on the artist , the book also includes a full chronology of events in and affecting the painter's life between 1883 and 1926, plus a selected bibliography. Hard covers, large format, 182 pages, superb black and white and full colour illustrations, original dust jacket.
