An amusing Early 20th Century Antique Gaudy Welsh "Toby" Pepper by Allerton's of Longton, Staffordshire. The underside with their black printed Maker's mark as used by the pottery from circa 1912. To quote Monica South, "It is debatable whether or not "Toby" items are true "Gaudy Welsh". Nevertheless, many collectors display them so as to complement their "Gaudy" pieces". cf.
