Not often seen, this fine Mid 20th Century Royal Doulton English Porcelain Character Figurine of "St. George" ~ HN 2067 was modelled by Stanley Thorogood { 1873 - 1953 }, Superintendant of Art Instruction for the Borough of Stoke-on-Trent from 1915 to 1919. Modelled in 1915, and first issued as HN 385 and HN 386 from 1920 to 1938, this large and impressive figure may be found with either blonde or dark hair. The piece offered here with dark hair and superb polychrome decoration is in first class condition and is guaranteed to impart added lustre to any Royal Doulton collection. The underside fully marked with the Royal Doulton backstamp for the period in underglaze green, POTTED BY DOULTON & CO LIMITED. HN 2067, with the title "St George." in Old English script.
