This delightful Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine ~ "Curly Knob" ~ HN 1627, decorated in an attractive blue and red colourway, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and was issued from 1934 - 1949. The underside fully marked in underglaze green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period together with the date code 9, { for 1936 }, "Curly Knob", Rd. No. 788725, { for 1933 }, in green script, HN 1627., impressed Model Number, 232, and impressed Date Code, 1236, { for 01 February 1936 ? }, this above the impressed numeral 1, { so could it be for 01 December 1936, which would more closely tally with the date at which the Painter is recorded as working at Doulton ? }, Painter's Monogram, N.P in black, probably for Norman Parton, listed as working at Doulton Circa 1937 to 1976.
