This rare and attractive Mid 20th Century Pre-production Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Elfreda" ~ HN 2078, was designed by leading artist Leslie Harradine and, according to Charlton's Standard Catalogue of Royal Doulton Figurines was in production for just five years, from 1951 to 1955. Beautifully decorated in a red and purple palette, the base with the Impressed Model Number 1320 and the Royal Doulton backstamp for the period in green, this with the Date Code 20, which would indicate that this particular figurine was potted in 1947, presumably as a prototype.
