This rare and delightful Early 20th Century First Year of Issue Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Molly Malone" ~ HN 1455, decorated in a red and brown colourway, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and was issued from 1931 to 1937. One of the rarest and most difficult to find of Royal Doulton figurines, this example fully marked on the underside in green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period, together with the numeral 4, indicating that this piece was issued in 1931, the first year of issue, Rd. No. 760008, { for 1930 }, In green script, Molly Malone. She wheeled a wheel barrow Through streets wide and narrow Singing "Cockles and Mussels All alive . alive O.", in red, HN 1455, Potted by Doulton & Co, and in black, the Painter's Monogram, RB, possibly for Reg Brown, working at Doulton Circa 1928 to 1962. Indistinct impressed Model Number, and impressed Date Code, 4931, for 4th September 1931.
