Clearly inspired by Canova's famous sculpture of Napoleon's notorious sister, Pauline Bonaparte, this attractive Late 20th Century Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Pauline" ~ HN 2441, was designed by leading Doulton artist Margaret "Peggy" Davies and was issued from 1984 to 1989. Subtly decorated in a peach and green colourway, the underside fully marked with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period in green, plus title, PAULINE, HN 2441, Modelled By Peggy Davies, { facsimile signature }, © ROYAL DOULTON TABLEWARE LIMITED 1983, indistinct impressed Model Number, and in green script, Painter's Monogram, 30, unidentified but listed as working at Doulton.
