A most attractive Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Papier-mâché Ladies Jewellery Casket in fine original condition, the overall decoration of gilded arabesques inlaid with abalone shell, the rising top still with it's fitted stationery folder intact, the interior retaining it's removable tray, the drawer beneath in good order. Original locks, with key to drawer lock, but not to cabinet lock. Some minor rubbing to the gilded edge decoration and minor wear to some interior silkwork, but otherwise offered in excellent and unrestored condition. No Maker's Marks, but almost certainly produced early in Queen Victoria's reign in Wolverhampton, at that time the manufacturing centre of the English papier-mâché industry.
