Description

A superb Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Oval Pottery Soup Tureen Stand by Ralph Stevenson of Cobridge, Staffordshire { c.1810 - 32 }, from his Acorn and Oak Leaf Border series, printed in that dark blue generally favoured by the American market of the period and depicting Harewood House, Yorkshire, the ancestral seat of the Lascelles family. A dish from this series, decorated with this identical view is illustrated { Fig. 53 } in "The Old China Book", by N. Hudson Moore, first published in 1903, and reprinted by Tudor Publishing Co. of New York in 1946. The reverse with old inventory sticker describing the item as "ODD PIECE", together with Maker's name and pattern title.
