This rare and delightful Early 20th Century Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Sweet and Twenty" ~ HN 1649, decorated in a green, cream and pink colourway, was designed by leading Doulton artist Leslie Harradine, and was issued for just three years, from 1934 to 1936. Fully marked on the underside in green with the Royal Doulton printed backstamp of the period, together with the numeral 1, indicating that this example was potted in 1928, and is therefore almost certainly a "Prototype", the title, "Sweet & Twenty", Rd. No. 737560, { for 1928 }, indistinct impressed Model Number and Date Code, plus in green script, "Sweet and Twenty", HN1649, Potted by Doulton & Co., and in black, the Painter's Monogram, EH for Elizabeth Hamilton.
