A rare and attractive Early 20th Century First Year of Issue Vintage Royal Doulton English Porcelain Figurine, "Kate Hardcastle" ~ HN 1919, the heroine of Oliver Goldsmith's comedy, "She Stoops to Conquer, decorated in a red and green colourway, designed by leading Doulton artist, Leslie Harradine , and issued from 1939 to 1949. The underside fully marked in green with the Royal Doulton Bone China printed backstamp as used from 1932, this together with the numeral 12, indicating that this figurine was potted in 1939, the First Year of Issue, "Kate Hardcastle", Rd. No. 803645, { for 1935 }, in green script, HN 1919, indistinct impressed Date Code and Model Number, and in black the Painter's monogram, HS, for Harry Stevenson, recorded as working at Doulton Circa 1924 to 1978.
