A fine clean copy of the catalogue produced to accompany the exhibition, "William Morris Revisited ~ Questioning the Legacy", held at the Whitworth Art Gallery, Manchester from 26th January to 7th April 1996, the Crafts Council Gallery, London, from 2nd May to 30th June, and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery from 26th October to 7th February 1997. The idea for this collaborative undertaking grew from an informal discussion between the Whitworth's Curator of Textiles, Jennifer Harris, who subsequently curated the event, and Linda Theophilus, former Head of Exhibitions at the Crafts Council. The Curator has brought her considerable knowledge of both historical and contemporary craft to bear on the selection and structure of the exhibition and has here written a series of illuminating short essays which introduce it's main themes.
