A most attractive and practical Early 20th Century Antique English Brass and Iron Door Porter / Doorstop, the design in the manner of Robert and James Adam, produced by William Tonks & Sons of Moseley Street, Birmingham, { Founded Circa 1789 }. The reverse of the piece fully marked with impressed Maker's Mark, W.T. & S. beneath a Sun device, together with Rd. No. 585595 for 1911. The inset iron shoe similarly marked with Rd. No. ******, although this is now barely legible.
