A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Copper Ale Mull, of lipped conical form, the body with brazed seam, the side handle of which would originally have held a turned wooden extension. Commonly found in homes of the period, these were used for the preparation of mulled ales and wines, being inserted into the hot embers of the fire to "mull" the spiced liquid, thus producing a fine "Winter Warmer", guaranteed to be most welcome in the chilly British climate.
