A superb quality Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Mason's Ironstone Vegetable Dish and Stand of hexagonal form by G.M. & C.J. Mason of Lane Delph, Staffordshire, { 1813 - 1829 }, decorated in a typical "Japan" pattern, principally of Iron Red and Cobalt Blue, heightened with gilding, the overall effect thus created offering a veritable riot of rich colour most pleasing to the eye. The reverse of each piece bearing the impressed straight line Maker's Mark of the period, viz. "MASON'S PATENT IRONSTONE CHINA". While these dishes may be displayed separately to great decorative effect, when assembled, the right hand of the two pieces illustrated in Fig. 1, { the vegetable dish } is intended to sit upon that illustrated on the left, { the stand }, the complete ensemble photographed here from above being illustrated in Fig. 8.
