An unusual and interesting Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Brass Oil Lamp of superb quality. The form of the column, in the "Gothic" taste, clearly influenced by the work of the eminent Architect and Designer A.W.N. Pugin, { 1812 - 1852 }. The brass of a deep glowing colour, the frosted white glass font deeply etched with clear floral sprays, the complementary cranberry glass shade, of the period, and attractively etched with a floral design. N.B. :- This lamp has at some time been drilled and converted for use with electricity, and is here offered minus it's burner, purely as a decorative item. Should it be required for practical use, it would be a simple matter for a professionally qualified Electrician to re-wire the lamp to current UK PAT, { Portable Appliance Testing }, standard.
