A rare and fine example of a Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Brass Model Fireplace. The central portrait, set between two flags, is, we believe intended to represent the young Queen Victoria. In all probability produced in Birmingham, although the preponderance of thistles incorporated within the patriotic design of the piece would appear to suggest a Scottish provenance. Further, the pillars and squares may well denote a masonic connection, thus providing further evidence of the likelihood that this interesting item was originally retailed North of the Border. Set upon it's original cast iron plinth, this really is a heavyweight item !
