A fine and elegant Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Copper Coffee Pot by William Soutter & Sons of Birmingham, { c. 1760 - 1928 }, whose main business in 1802, and for some years afterwards according to Berrow's Worcester Journal, was as tea urn manufacturers. Ref. Birmingham History. This lovely old coffee pot of seamed construction, bearing their impressed mark on the underside is here offered in excellent condition. With an elegantly turned handle and flared foot, the hinge in good order, the inside tinned, and the lid with brass acorn finial, all is just as it should be. As fine an example of Soutter's work as one might hope to find. As always, we are delighted to acknowledge our debt to Vin Callcut and colleagues at The Oldcopper Website for their extensive research into these early marks.
