A superb quality Late 19th Century Antique English Victorian Ceramic Oil Lamp with integral font by Taylor, Tunnicliff of Hanley, Staffordshire { 1867 - }. Mounted upon an attractively pierced brass base, { Identical to that illustrated in the attached link }, the Hinks No. 2 rise and fall, twist-on brass burner, { patented in 1865 } now a little temperamental, the collar stamped HINKS & SONS PATENT, the wick winder button marked HINKS NO. 2 DUPLEX, and the base with underglaze blue printed Maker's mark. This lovely old lamp is here offered with a choice of etched octagonal antique shades of the period and comes with a replacement 20th Century clear glass chimney as one would expect.
