Description

A very fine Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Walnut Loo Table, the quartered well figured top with boxwood stringing and inlaid with restrained floral arabesques in box, ebony and amboyna. Supported upon four baluster turned pillars, rising from a platform base with attractively turned central finial, the swept legs with blind carved decoration retaining their original china casters. Loo tables, such as this, which take their name from the popular nineteenth-century card game, Pantaloo, today make the perfect breakfast or dining table for the smaller modern home, seating four in comfort. Designed to tip up and be removed to the side of the room when not in use, this example retains it's original bolts and catch, and thus the top may be folded and the table easily moved aside as required.
