A good Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Pewter Grain Measure of Half Pint capacity, with brass banded rim. No Maker's mark, but the body with both Victorian and Edwardian Weights and Measures Inspectors' stamps. These measures were intended to be used for dry goods, seeds, grains and so forth. Once filled, a stick would then be drawn across the top to skim off any excess content, the brass band around the rim protecting the softer pewter body from damage.
