This attractive Late 19th Century Antique English Victorian Pottery Jardiniere / Planter might at first glance be taken for a typical piece of majolica of the period, from a factory such as George Jones or Minton. However, the piece is unmarked, and the relative crudeness of the potting, combined with the naive decoration, now lightly crazed, albeit of a charming and endearing subject, would seem to point to a manufacturer of less elevated repute. That said, a pleasing and decorative accessory for lovers of our feline friends.
