Another really lovely Late 19th / Early 20th Century Antique Porcelain Oil Lamp, once again made in Germany, probably in Saxony, around the turn of the century. Notwithstanding its noticeable "Tower of Pisa" like lean, we simply couldn't resist buying this Interior Decorator's dream of a lamp. Tall and distinctly feminine with its rococo swirls and butterfly decoration this lovely old piece is certain to add lustre any ladies boudoir. The beautifully moulded blue glass font fitted with a simple brass burner, the wick winders in working order, their buttons marked T.W.O. within a triangular cartouche and ENGLISH MAKE DUPLEX, the base with crossed swords Maker's mark in underglaze blue. Offered here with a choice of two antique etched clear glass shades of the period, the one unfortunately cracked. N.B. :- This lamp has obviously been altered at some time, the central threaded rod clearly having been replaced. Replacement 20th Century clear glass chimney as one would expect.
