A scarce Early 19th Century Antique Irish Georgian Pewter Measure of baluster form, with everted rim and of Half Pint capacity. Rarely found in today's marketplace, similar English examples of the 1750 - 1800 period are illustrated by Cotterell, { Old Pewter, It's Makers and Marks ~ Plate XLVII {b} }, whilst Irish examples, though handle-less, from the Young Collection, are there illustrated in Plate L {a}. This measure, a pair to it's Gill companion, { Our Stock Ref. AIGPGMD-5 }, bears no excise stamps, but is marked on the underside, DUBLIN, together with the Clairseach or Irish Harp.
