A good Mid 19th Century Antique Scottish Victorian Pewter Tappit-Hen of "One English Pint" capacity. According to Cotterell { Old Pewter, It's Makers and Marks } Tappit-Hens are seldom found with maker's marks. The base of this one, the marks now badly rubbed, does however retain traces of the London mark, supporting the widely held belief that many Tappit-Hens were sent to London for hallmarking.
