A fine quality Late 19th Century Antique Scottish Green Glass Oil Lamp by Thomas Rowatt and sons of Edinburgh and London. The baluster shaped column and font each moulded with a matching foliate design rising from a stepped round base complete with original iron insert, good clean brass burner, the two wick winder buttons each marked with the Maker's Name, ie. T. ROWATT AND SONS enclosing a 5 pointed star. Thomas Rowatt and Sons operated from 1862 to the mid 1890’s at Lothian Road and at 126 Fountainbridge in Edinburgh, first as an agent for James Young and later as a manufacturer of oil lamps from 1875. They also had an Oil Works at Kilrenny in Fife.
