A fine well coloured Mid 19th Century Antique English Victorian Titled Staffordshire Pottery Portrait Figure of "Admiral Sir Charles Napier" P 102 ~ H 212, Commander of the Baltic Fleet during the Crimean War. Standing, his right hand holding a cocked hat, his left arm by his side holding a cape, a sword at his side, a cannon and balls to his right, wearing a tunic with epaulettes and trousers, a sash across his chest and waist. The base with title, "Sir Charles Napier" in gilt script. Catalogued as Fig. 102 and illustrated in Plate 42 ~ Section C of Pugh's classic work "Staffordshire Portrait Figures of the Victorian Era", { where however the title is described as having raised gilt capitals }, and as Fig. 212 in Book I of Harding's "Victorian Staffordshire Figures 1835 - 1875".
