A fine clean First Edition copy of "Chinese Ceramics from Datable Tombs", by J.M. Addis, published by Sotheby-Parke Bernet of London and New York in 1978. The author, Sir John Addis, served as a British diplomat in China on a number of occasions from 1947 onwards, his career there culminating in his occupying the post of Ambassador from 1972 to 1974. He presented his small but choice collection of Fourteenth and Fifteenth Century Chinese porcelain to The British Museum in 1975. This scholarly work presents an exciting and vital contribution towards establishing the chronology of Chinese ceramics.
