This lovely Contemporary English Green Glass Epergne in the Victorian manner was produced by Nick Inman of Horncastle Glass Studio, one of the finest and most accomplished artisan craftsmen in glass to be found working in England in recent years. His talents already recognised as such, and his work now collectable on it's own merits, many of his Victorian inspired pieces are easily mistaken by the unwary for those of his 19th Century predecessors. With four crimped, tapered flutes, each with applied trailing decoration, and three matching baskets suspended from their original "shepherd's crook" canes, the whole ensemble rising from an attractive scalloped round tray, this fine example is thus destined to become highly valued by Collectors in the years to come. Illustrated here in Image 6 along with an almost identical epergne, Stock Ref. EGGE5-114, the two together making an attractive harlequin pair.
