This lovely trio of Late 20th Century porcelain figurines, offered here together with their original octagonal porcelain platform base, and depicting characters from Gilbert and Sullivan's comic opera, "The Mikado", bears all of the hallmarks of Reg Johnson's multi-faceted talent, not only as designer, but also as potter and painter. Superbly modelled, beautifully decorated, and fired in his own studio, the group offers the perfect introduction to the works of this talented Staffordshire artist, examples of whose work may now be viewed at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery.
