A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Spode Blue and White Transfer Pottery Sauce Tureen Stand, printed in a light blue palette in the "Castle" pattern, the scene taken from the aquatint, "The Gate of Sebastian at Capena", contained in "Views of Rome and it's Vicinity", published by J. Merigot, 28 Haymarket and R. Edwards, 142 New Bond Street, London, in 1796 - 98, this set within a foliate border. The reverse with impressed Upper Case SPODE 39 mark together with underglaze blue printed Upper Case letter B.
