A fine, large, Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Serving Dish / Platter by Thomas and Benjamin Godwin { fl. 1809 - 1834 } of New Basin Pottery and New Wharf Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire. Printed with a named view of "Delhi, Hindoostan", this is one of a number of recorded views from their series "Indian Scenery", the source print for which first appeared in Captain Robert Elliot's "Views in the East", published in 1833. The reverse with underglaze blue printed Title, DELHI HINDOOSTAN and Maker's Mark, T & B G within a floral cartouche.
