A scarce and attractive Early 19th Century Antique Welsh Georgian Blue and White Transfer "Dutch" shaped Pottery Jug / Pitcher, of quart capacity, decorated in the "Ladies with Bird and Cage" pattern, here attributed to the Cambrian Pottery of Swansea, { Circa 1783 - 1870 }. This piece is unmarked, however, a jug in this same pattern is illustrated by Morton Nance in "The Pottery & Porcelain of Swansea and Nantgarw", Plate 6B, where it is attributed to the Cambrian Pottery at Swansea. Another jug can be seen in FOB Bulletin 89 and a marked mug in Pryce & Williams articles entitled "Swansea Blue and White Pottery". Another illustration may be found on Page 154 of Arleen and Grahame Tanner's "Swansea’s Cambrian Pottery Transferware and Other Welsh Examples".
