Of Indian interest. A rare and most attractive Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Plate, of Indian interest, printed in the "Mahomedan Mosque and Tomb" pattern from the "Oriental Scenery" series produced by John Hall & Sons, { 1822 - 32 } at their Sytch Pottery, Burslem, Staffordshire. The engraving copied from a print, "Mohamedan Mosque and Tomb, near Benares", in Charles Ramus Forrest's "A Picturesque Tour along the Rivers Ganges and Jumna in India", published in 1824. Ref. Fine clear transfer in a dark blue palette with old hairline to reverse, together with Maker's name, series and pattern titles within a scrolling cartouche.
