Description

A most attractive Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Plate in the "Peach and Cherry" pattern. A.W. Coysh, in his "Blue and White Transfer Ware 1780 - 1840", illustrates a remarkably similar example, { see Plate 126 }, which bears the Maker's Mark of Stubbs & Kent of Dale Hall, Longton, Staffordshire, { Circa 1828 - 30 }, to whom we would attribute this piece. Printed in that dark blue so popular with the American market of the period, the plate carries no Maker's Mark, but is impressed on the reverse with the numerals, 6 over 25, good stilt marks and footring, and apart from minor nibbles to the edge is otherwise in fine condition for it's age.

Height ~ 25.40 cm. / 10.00 inches ~ Width ~ 25.40 cm. / 10.00 inches ~ Year ~ Circa 1830
