Description

A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Indented Pottery Plate, printed in "The Reaper" pattern from the Rural Scenery series produced by Bathwell & Goodfellow of Upper House Works, Burslem, Staffordshire, { 1818 - 1823 } and at Tunstall from 1820 - 1822 . The bucolic scene depicts a Reaper with his sickle, conversing with a woman and child beneath a tree with cottages in the background. The reverse with series title RURAL SCENERY within a pastoral cartouche printed in underglaze blue above the impressed numeral 2.
