Description

A good Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Spode "Castle" Pattern Blue and White Transfer Indented Pottery Plate, printed in a light blue palette in the "Castle" pattern, the scene taken from the aquatint, "The Gate of Sebastian at Capena", contained in "Views of Rome and it's Vicinity", published by J. Merigot, 28 Haymarket and R. Edwards, 142 New Bond Street, London, in 1796 - 98. The reverse impress marked in upper case SPODE 54 and with upper case letter A printed in underglaze blue. Minor frits to edge.
