A rare and most attractive Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Pottery Tazza or Footed Stand, probably intended for the serving of cheese, cakes or fruit. This example, unmarked, printed in a medium blue palette with a view of Kirkstall Abbey, Yorkshire, from the "Antique Scenery" series, by a so far unidentified Maker. The abbey, a 12th Century building in the Norman transitional style and originally a Cistertian foundation pendant to Fountains Abbey, lies on the River Aire, near Leeds.
