A fine and rare Early 19th Century Antique English Georgian Blue and White Transfer Indented Pottery Plate of Indian interest from the "Flower Panel Border" series, printed in a dark blue palette with an attractive scene depicting part of the City of Benares. The dome and towers would appear to represent part of the Temple of Vishveshwar, for which see, "Benares through the eyes of British Artists" ~ Apollo ~ Vol. XCII ~ No. 102 ~ August 1970 ~ Page 97 ~ Plate 1, { Our Stock Ref. AXCII102A1970-XX }. No Maker's Mark, but the reverse bearing the numeral 8 in underglaze blue.
